 Update from the Executive Assistant

Farewell acknowledgements

The board would like to thank and acknowledge our outgoing director and now past-president, Dr. Daryl Meger, for his dedication to EASAV over the past 3 years. His kindness and ability to make effective decisions will be missed. He kindly stepped down to make room for a new incoming director, Dr. Sini Mathew, from the Sandy Lane Pet Clinic!

Also leaving us this year is our Volunteer Financial Auditor, Dr. Erinn Matenchuk. Erinn served for 2 years as EASAV's first official auditor and helped to streamline the auditing process with me. Replacing her in this role is Dr. Jeff Person.  Thank you, Jeff for volunteering in this important capacity!

Here is a breakdown of the current EASAV Executive Team!

Other Acknowledgements

We were sad to have to say goodbye to one of our steadfast Administrative Assistants, Karen Langtved, RVT, last month. She was brought on to the team in January of 2023 and tackled many challenging tasks to help out with last year's conference.  We are grateful for her professionalism, strong work ethic and commitment to the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians and wish her all the best in her future endeavours!

Replacing Karen, is Faye Bambush, another RVT who will be helping out with various duties. Jackie Sehlin continues to manage our Video library CE certificate issuance, on a part time basis.

The Annual EASAV member picnic will resume this year at the Edmonton Valley Zoon on Sunday, June 16. This is Father's Day and we encourage all voting and associate members to bring their immediate families (either your parents or your kids can come) to enjoy a day at the zoo on us with lunch in the same tent that we host our Teddy Bear Hospital!

If you want to bring your kids & parents, you are welcome to pay the admission fees for the additional guests. We will feed them all at our picnic!

This event is open to newly registered ABVMA vets & techs and retired EASAV members & their immediate families.

Thank you to Royal Canin for sponsoring this year's event.

Website upgrade announcement

We are working on building a new website for EASAV with a few improvements! These will include a similar registration process with the ability for website users to download their own CE certificates following verification of their attendance and a new member directory. We hope to have it completed before September.

Smokey Walters, RVT, EASAV Executive Assistant
