We have delivered our new Adoption certificates to the EHS!

Our certificates do not exclude any participating vet clinics who offer free adoption exams, but we do direct adopting families to browse our EASAV website clinic directory to help them find a clinic close to them!

If an adopting family books an appointment for their wellness check at your practice, we recommend you ask them to bring in their adoption certificate.

Once it is presented, record the pet's name, the date they came in and keep the certificate as part of the patient's medical record. 

If all clinics follow this protocol, this should help prevent new families from visiting more than one clinic for this wellness check up.

To qualify for advertising on the EASAV website clinic directory, one veterinarian who owns or works at the practice must be a voting member of EASAV. Existing members can add the clinic to our directory from their profile page.

EASAV Member and Volunteer Backcountry Camping Retreat

The date for this year's backcountry camping retreat is from August 26-28th!

This event is free for EASAV/CAVM & retired members and past volunteers.

Don't miss the chance to unwind in a beautiful and quiet setting with some fellow veterinary professionals for the weekend. 

1. Attendees will participate in an equine team building exercise on Saturday. 
2. 1-hour trail rides are available for a fee, for those 13 and up; exceptions may be made for younger participants with prior riding experience, by contacting Terri Yurkewich
3. outdoor pens are available on site for your own horses
4. all firewood & bbq propane is provided on site
5. no potable water
6. washing sink and outhouses are on site
7. amenities include: firepit, axe throwing, games, fishing, hiking, teepee with propane stove, lawn chairs, deck over pond, cookout shelter with bbqs
8. accommodations are available if you do not have your own camper/tent, but are limited, so send your RSVP in early!

Pet Body Donations needed

 We are in need of canine and feline cadavers!

If you can secure donations of cats and dogs 25 kg in size and under, please save them, download our pet body donation form, complete it & contact Part of the Family to schedule a pick-up!

There is no need to contact us prior to accepting a donation. 

Part of the Family now offers 50% off the cost of private cremation in exchange for the donation of a deceased pet to EASAV.

Do you have clients looking for financial assistance with common cremations? If they donate their pet to us, the common cremation fee is waived!

To help make this conversation easier, add the option to donate a pet's body to science on your euthanasia forms so your clients can ask you about this!
