EASAV is now a public not-for-profit association!

The Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians has converted from a private to a public not-for-profit association! In addition, we have added an Associate Membership category for veterinarians who are not registered with the AbVMA (I.e. out-of-province, on mat leave, etc.) and AHTs, effective January 31, 2021!

Although they will not have voting rights on the EASAV, Associate Members will have access to all of EASAV's discounted CE rates, including free evening CE, discounted video sales, access to all social events and the right to serve on our committees! The Associate Membership fee is $75 annually. Veterinarians who are registered with the AbVMA do not qualify for associate membership and will always be considered Voting Members of the EASAV (with an annual fee of $130), as detailed in our new Articles of Association.

We are looking for an EASAV member volunteer Financial Auditor!
This job will require you to meet with our Executive Assistant and Treasurer to review our financial statement and accounts
between February - March of 2021 and submit a written report before March 7, 2021. Our Financial Auditor will be given an honorarium and return mileage reimbursement!

If you can volunteer as an Auditor or have any questions about our new membership category or these changes, please email our Executive Assistant, Smokey (info@easav.ca)!

In-person CE update

We are pleased to announce that all of our previously scheduled fall seminars, with the exception of Cytology, will be hosted at NAIT for in-person attendance!

Attendance guidelines (i.e.: attendance limits, mask wearing, etc.) will be enforced and are subject to change, as mandated by Alberta Health.

All seminars will be recorded and available for streaming at a later date for those uncomfortable with in-person attendance to seminars.

We have plans to host all CE sessions via the Zoom platform, should we have to cancel in-person attendance.

The purpose of the committee is to share updates about each organization's activities, opportunities and challenges and provide a formalized link between the EHS and local veterinary community. It will consist of 4-8 veterinary members of the EASAV and the EHS' Chief Executive Officer, Operations Director, Animal Health Manager and Medical Services Supervisor.

Meetings will be held at minimum two times per year. If you would like to be on the committee, please contact us at info@easav.ca. We have room for a few more EASAV members!
