President's Message |
|
As we move closer to the dog days of summer, EASAV is busy planning another quintessential year of great CE and convivial collegiality events; but first, we want to thank our outgoing directors: Dr. Kelti Kachur and Dr. Gurmeet Tuli, for their dedication and years of service to the EASAV board - thank you! Please join us in welcoming our new directors Drs. Margaret Fisher and Tahir Sheikh AND a big thanks and hats off to all of our returning directors: Drs. Clare Ettinger, Lisa Collis, Cheryl Lewis and Christie Gingras! Together, we’ll continue to shape and strengthen EASAV by dialing into our members needs, to deliver when and where we’re needed, and to strive to remain relevant and pragmatic in our ever-changing veterinary industry.
Our associations’ dedication to Edmonton & Area has led to strong partnerships within the industry and the community. In the years to come, we hope to grow in these areas by further cultivating our collegiality branch with events such as EASAV’s annual family BBQ, Badminton tournament, “STS” with expert speakers, our monthly support group, and development of our mentor/mentee program.
We continue to be committed to our industries development by providing opportunities for veterinarians and vet staff to learn, grow and advance their careers. Therefore, we work hard to seek out relevant and progressive CE topics to bring to you. As our wet labs continue to grow in popularity, we’re also looking into how to increase capacity and provide these biannually when possible.
At EASAV, we constantly strive for improvement and collaboration, which means we want to hear from you - our members! Please never hesitate to give us feedback on how we’re doing, and keep us informed on important subjects that affect veterinarians - we want to know! This in turn, will help us bolster a network of support that fosters steady growth and development in Edmonton’s veterinary industry.
In 2021, in celebration of our 50th anniversary, EASAV will be hosting its first Veterinary CE Conference! Also coming soon - to a mailbox near you, is EASAV’s first magazine publication! Our magazine will cover a range of topics relevant to the veterinary profession including: success stories, professional development, finance and investment, regulatory and safety issues as well as veterinary community connections. By the way, if you’re not an EASAV member yet, please sign up asap! If you’ve never been an EASAV member, you may be eligible for a free introductory EASAV membership, email Smokey for details.
Thanks to you, EASAV’s future is bright, make sure to join us! We look forward to sharing many years of our associations’ successes with you.
Yours truly,
Dr. Natasha P. Russell
