All registered ABVMA members (veterinarians and technologists) are reminded that they (and their families) have access to Homewood Health. Homewood Health provides counselling and other member assistance programs and resources.
Members of the veterinary team should remain cognizant of the emotional toll COVID-19 can take on you personally. Services through Homewood Health are still available, however, Homewood Health will be implementing telephonic counselling sessions only.

Veterinary Mental Health Initiative (VMHI): Upcoming Professionally-Facilitated Groups & Support Services
THE VMHI has 2 groups for veterinarians starting in November, 2022

Start Date and Time: Monday, November 7th at 6pm ET / 3pm PT. This group will be held for 6 consecutive weeks and be facilitated by Dr. Amanda Weiss. (Dates: 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28, 12/5, 12/12).

Start Date and Time: Wednesday, November 9th at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT. This group will be held for 4 weeks and be facilitated by Dr. Jane Jenkins. Please know this group will not meet the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving, but rather is extended by an additional week. (Dates: 11/9, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7).

Our next 4-week group for all veterinary medicine professionals (veterinarians, veterinary technicians, customer service representatives, practice managers, assistants, and additional roles) will begin on Tuesday, November 8th at 6pm ET / 3pm PT. This group will be facilitated by Dr. Anna Kreiter. (Dates: 11/8, 11/15, 11/22, 11/29).
New Service: Drop-In Mindfulness Group for All Veterinary Medicine Professionals and Vet Students

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Amanda Weiss has offered to facilitate a 30-minute mindfulness drop-in group every Friday at 3pm ET / 12pm PT beginning on November 11th. This will be a very warm, welcoming, and informal environment, with no prior experience necessary!
