Biography

President: Kelti Kachur

Dr. Kelti Kachur began her career in veterinary medicine as an AHT.

After a few years of work, she went back to school to complete her DVM at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She currently works at the Delton Veterinary Hospital.

In addition to routine small animal medicine, she enjoys working with wildlife and exotics.

Dr. Natasha Russell is thrilled to be part of an inspiring group of veterinary professionals here in Edmonton! As a board member on EASAV, her current aspiration is to help cultivate strong community ties within all veterinary circles. As a practitioner at Delton Vet Hospital, her daily focus is helping animals by educating her clients the best she can.

Dr. Natasha Russell is also busy evenings working with her neighbours and local businesses to help make Alberta Ave. a safe and great place to live. Whilst, she does spend a lot of her free time thinking about how to mitigate issues of inequity and how to set into motion changes which benefit both people and animals in this great city, her passions are not limited to veterinary and civic matters... her other current hobbies include breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Teddy Bear Hospital at Dreamnight at the Zoo
Friday, June 3, 2016.

EASAV was fortunate to have the use of a large white inflatable Igloo at the top of the wander this year; provided courtesy of the zoo. Our tent gave away over 740 stuffed animals this year! Many of these were stock we had from last year.

Many thanks go to the following people and clinics who donated stuffed animals, supplies and their time to facilitate this event in some way.

Due to public and zoo concerns, next year we will be supplying candies from inside our surgery dogs instead of from prescription vials.

EASAV ANNUAL POTLUCK BBQ AT THE ZOO

This June's BBQ at the zoo, which was held as a private event on Friday the evening of June 17, was a lot of fun! The weather was nice and we had over 90 people in attendance. Attendants enjoyed an elephant presentation, animal encounters, unlimited access to the paddle boats and train rides and merry-go-round!
The EASAV Executive hopes that more members will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to socialize with fellow EASAV members and their families next year. See the brochure for details on the location of next year's BBQ...
