HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope that all veterinarians, RVTs, practice managers, receptionists, tech assistants & kennel staff all had a lovely holiday season and are looking forward to the year ahead.
At the helm of your current Continuing Education Team, Drs. Kelti Kachur, Clare Leger and Heather Lam, I am excited to be organizing more wet-labs in 2016!
Please take the time to read this newsletter for important updates, a review of the Executive Team and a list of Upcoming CE, including a downloadable version of the 2016 CE Brochure and an important message from the Widlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton!
Important Notice to Website users!
Membership renewal time is here. EASAV membership runs from January 31 – January 31 of each year. The membership fee for veterinarians is $130.00/year.
Office Support staff and veterinarians who do not wish to be members are still encouraged to sign up to use the website and register/pay for CE online. By signing up you will receive email messages about upcoming CE, important notices and newsletters. Don't delay, sign up today!
If your clinic is paying for multiple memberships, please ensure that each veterinarian completes their own membership renewal form – we rely on your feedback as a member for CE topics, speaker suggestions and volunteer availability. Clinics can pay for multiple memberships in the same cheque and mail along with the completed renewal forms.
Please allow for 3-4 weeks for website access to be updated as these are done manually.
If you are paying for your own membership, I strongly encourage you to renew online before January 31. This will ensure that your access to website member benefits and seminar rates are not interrupted. Members who do not renew before January 31 will have their access temporarily disabled until the renewal fee is paid.
Important Notice!!! To offset the cost of using the Paypal credit card services, EASAV will be charging 2.9% plus $0.30 to all purchases paid online, effective January 1, 2016. These fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
If you would prefer not to use a credit card, please register online and mail a cheque or money order made payable to EASAV or the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians along with a completed registration form to: EASAV, Box 31029, Namao Centre, Edmonton, AB, T5Z 3P3.

Looking to make a charitable donation this year? Why not consider the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton? We are your local wildlife rehabilitation centre serving Edmonton and surrounding communities with a triage hospital within the City of Edmonton and rehabilitation centre in Parkland County.
In 2015, we admitted over 2100 wild birds and small mammals and released over 800 back into the wild. We accept a huge diversity of birds (over 140 different species) ranging from tiny Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to Bald Eagles and small mammals including: Red Squirrels, Porcupines, Northern Flying Squirrels and Red Fox as well as White-tail deer fawns.
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton provides volunteer opportunities and trains and works with over 100 volunteers ranging from transport drivers, hotline, centre helpers, baby bird and squirrel nannies, gardening & maintenance. Our Education team has reached over 5000 elementary students with science curriculum based learning modules and our new and exciting “Healthy Backyards” program specifically designed for increasing understanding of wildlife in urban environments.
Here’s how you can help:
We are a charitable non-profit, donor supported organization and your tax-deductible donation is greatly appreciated & always needed to support our animal care, volunteer and education programs.
