Executive Assistant's Message

Membership renewal time is here. EASAV membership runs from January 31 – January 31 of each year. I would like to remind everyone that, as voted by the membership at the last AGM, the membership fee will be increasing to $130.00/veterinarian next year.

If your clinic is paying for multiple memberships, please ensure that each veterinarian completes their own membership renewal form – we rely on your feedback as a member for CE topics, speaker suggestions and volunteer availability. Clinics can pay for multiple memberships in the same cheque and mail along with the completed renewal forms.
Please allow for 3-4 weeks for website access to be updated as these are done manually and I only work part-time.

If you are paying for your own membership, I strongly encourage you to renew online. This will ensure that your access to website member benefits and seminar rates are not interrupted.

There will be a few changes to the EASAV Annual BBQ next year:
·  It will be an evening event, allowing for more people to come for less money.
·  Invitation will be open to vet member clinic AHTs and their families as well!
·  This BBQ will be Potluck; we would like each clinic to bring one large dish of an accompanying food item, such as salad, fruit, veggies or treats to the BBQ. EASAV will supply plates, cutlery, napkins, BBQs, meat, buns and beverages.

Thank you to this year’s BBQ Sponsors: MCRC and Fresenius Kabi Animal Health

Happy Holidays!

Smokey Walters, EASAV Executive Assistant.

AGM Reminder

The 2015 EASAV AGM is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2015. This year it will be held at the Art Gallery of Alberta and will feature keynote speaker: Dr. Jean Wallace. She will be giving a brief overview of the Wellness Study that she completed and a keynote entitled “Not All Coping Strategies Are Created Equal”. I encourage members to RSVP early! We regret the need to have to charge for spousal attendance; it is due to reduced AGM sponsorship. Should our sponsorship levels increase for this event, we will waive the spousal fee.

AGM RSVP Deadline is March 1, 2015.
